Friendly reminder that Jemma Simmons never saw Fitz at his “worst”. He got worse after Simmons left, according to Coulson, and we can assume fake!Simmons didn’t show up until real!Simmons was gone. So for all we know, what we see as progress for Fitz at the moment might look like backtracking to Jemma. He very well could be acting worse at the moment than he did when she last saw him.
