a riddle:

a man is driving his son to school. they get into an accident and the man dies. the son is rushed to the hospital and when he arrives for emergency surgery the doctor says “i cant operate on this boy, he is my son!” how is this possible?

omg one time our english teacher told us this to try and show what a modern thinker he was and we were all like “it’s a woman” and he was like oh wow i thought he was gay i hadn’t thought of that

Society has us believe that only men are doctors and only women are nurses, and that isn’t right. Riddles like these that make us think, are the ones truly exposing sexism for what it is.

Did you know? Lesbians and male homosexuals would marry each other in Nazi Germany just to escape persecution?
Queer history tho like
I honestly am learning things everyday that shape my knowledge of what it means to be LGBT? Like did you know Malcolm X was bisexual? Did you know the Nazis persecuting homosexuals said they were protecting “traditional family values,” the same arguments used today by Republicans? Washington in the 1780s expelled several soldiers for engaging in consensual same-sex acts? FDR launched a plan in the 1920s where he forced young sailors to try and trap other sailors into sex? I think schools need to stop erasing queer history from social studies and queer literature from English classes. And also start teaching children to respect gay people at a young age, like grade five. That’s the only way I can see any change coming about…

I really want the new live action Mulan movie to have an entirely racially correct cast, except Eddie Murphy still plays Mushu.

No CGI.  I want Eddie Murphy to wear a dragon suit.

“i think my problem is that i’ll only ever be able to settle for the kind of love that sparks and ignites a fire from a simple glance. the kind of love you read about in books, where one kiss makes the ground crumble beneath you. the wild uncontrollable love that scatters your thoughts and turns your brain to mush. the kind of love formed under crazy and intense situations, where you fall apart and fall back together. i want a love that consumes me.”—sjf // why i am lonely

Why does Leverage not have a bigger, more active fandom?

I mean the show has a main cast of five people. Two of those people are some of the most impressively and complexly written female characters I have seen on television. The other three male characters all defy stereotypes, you have a professional assassin who specializes in hand to hand combat who also raises bonsai and is a classically trained chef. You also have a black guy who is a total computer geek and genius. Then you have the ex insurance agent/ ex Catholic seminarian who decides to run a gang of super thieves. And those are just the men.

One of the women is a cute little blonde who will proceed to stab you with a fork, leap off a forty story building, and then steal a priceless painting. She has a complex backstory that is slowly revealed throughout the series and eventually she takes over the entire operation.

The other woman is a failed actress and brilliant conwoman who can manipulate anyone she wants too, this frequently includes the men on her team. She also speaks countless languages and is a total badass. She is also played by an ethnically Jewish actress who is the daughter of Russian and Polish immigrants.

This show has some of the best character development I have ever seen along with snappy plot and brilliant one liners. It’s also entirely on Netflix. It also makes Dr. Who references at various points. Summary, this show is absolutely beautiful. You should all watch it.

Think about this.

submissivefeminist:

themaskednegro:

I just got a ride home from the gym from a 40-ish year old five foot tall white woman that I’ve never talked to before tonight.

She offered as she saw me leaving. I live literally across the street. Maybe a 5-10 minute walk.

I asked her why she wanted to give me a ride and she said “Because with what’s going on out there I don’t think it’s safe for you to walk alone in the dark.”

I’m a black male in my late 20s who is six feet 8 inches tall and is roughly 400 lbs. I’m a literal giant.

And she feared for my safety because of what she’s seen on the news all week.

Think about that shit.

This is important.

Never, ever assume asexuals have it easy.

Asexuality is growing up under the assumption you are a late bloomer, and then the assumption you are broken.
Asexuality is learning the word and still being afraid to define yourself as asexual because how can you say you don’t feel something you don’t even understand.
Asexuality is coming out to people and having them laugh and tell you ‘when you find the one’
Asexuality is trying to enter spaces that promise acceptance and being told ‘but you’re straight’
Asexuality is trying to enter a relationship, worried that if you tell them they won’t give you a chance and worried if you don’t you’re just leading them onAsexuality is living in a culture that finds sex so vital half the world revolves around it, and never understanding
Asexuality is being told you have it easy, so often you doubt any of your problems are real

So no. It’s not easy.

If, after you are finished questioning and experimenting with gender/sexuality, you figure out that you are straight and/or cisgender, that is completely okay. Your time spent figuring yourself out was not wasted or in vain, and you weren’t “faking it” the whole time. You’re just as valid as anyone else.

PREACH. Experimenting and becoming more self aware is NOT a waste of time.

If I ever end up moving in with someone I’m in a relationship with, I want us to have separate bedrooms. I need us to have our own rooms. This doesn’t mean we won’t sleep together, it means we will get to have our own space when we need/want it. Not just for if we’re fighting, but just because people need space sometimes.

i’m actually in this arrangement right now with my partner and i can confirm this is the best idea ever especially if you’re incredibly introverted like i am

i wish more people understood this mindset

this honestly sounds ideal and is what i want.

Victorian nobles actually used to do this, only they took it a step further. Sometimes, they’d have a third room they shared. The wife got her own room to do with whatever she pleased, and the husband the same, but they had to compromise on the middle room

I was at the library the other day, and my daughter was playing at the Art Table with two other girls. One of the little girls’ mother was near by and said “Aren’t you girls good little artists!”

And the third girl perked up and said “My dad’s an artist!”

The woman smiled indulgently and says “Oh really, what kind?”

The little girl proudly told her “He’s a tattoo artist.”

And the woman. Oh man. Her face just twists, crumples into something nothing short of disdain, and she opens her mouth and says “That’s not…”

“An easy job,” I cut in, looking the woman in the face because really? You’re going to tell a child her dad’s not a real artist. “In fact it’s very very hard, because that art is alive forever on a person, not like on paper. And that’s scary! You have to be really good, to be a tattoo artist. Your dad must be really, really good.”

what kind of person could just try and crush a little kid like that? goddamn.
