Natalia Peggy Rogers, you are named after the two bravest, strongest, independent women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Tony Clint Bruce Thor Rogers, I am so sorry your uncles got hold of your birth certificate before me.
i can’t believe i still have to unfollow people for putting terfs on my dash.
“don’t reblog terfs” is not an attempt at a political gotcha, it is an urgent matter of safety for trans people esp. trans girls. a terf is a transphobe and transmisogynist being legitimized as a feminist - this means that any trans person seeking out feminist resources can be suddenly hit with abusive, violent rhetoric. terfs do not have a mere disagreement with trans women, they hate us and constantly throw verbal abuse & harassment in order to suicide bait.
it is absolutely a responsibility to not legitimize their voices.
nothing a terf has to say is worth the total disregard for our lives a snippy reblog signifies. this isn’t hard and there’s no fucking excuse.
if I ever reblog someone you know to be a TERF A) rest assured it was not intentional and B) pls let me know right away so that I can remove that filth from my blog
crows are fucking great and scary as hell. My friends kitty killed a crow a while ago, and up until recently was a marked cat. they would send one to watch him whenever he was outside, and then after a little while my friend found the cat under a car across the street making all kinds of sounds, and the car was surrounded by crows all fucking snapping at him and raising hell.
Uhh maybe the hit has been called off after that or something, I think the cat just doesn’t rly go outside anymore for the most part now
im really bothered about what information can be processed by the crow community and like how that information is transmitted. like crows know stuff and they definitely talk to one another but like how. and what do they know about me. how much of the shit i do goes on my crow permanent record. where do they keep that stuff
a fun fact about crows is: any time a secret comes into existence which is known by only one person, somewhere in the world, a crow learns this secret also
Do you want to know what’s a strange feeling? Having a platonic crush on someone. You go through all the same crap as with a romantic crush, trying to impress them, not wanting to seem over eager, wanting to talk to them all the time. The only difference is, instead of wanting to kiss them until they can’t breathe, you want to rent all of the movies with them and have a sleep over. It’s rather disconcerting.
Omg I was literally trying to explain/understand this last night and I’m so glad it’s a thing lmao
as much as im happy for caitlyn in coming out i want to give a shout out to all of the trans kids who are going to have to sit in silence and listen to their parents/family members make harsh and transphobic statements on how they feel about her transition
youve got this i know this sucks but i know you can do it
my school has a yearly male “beauty” pageant called Mr. GM and today my friend told me “I can do mr gm” so im like “uh yeah any boy can do it but freshmen usually dont” and he grabbed me and hes like “No, the school said i could do mr gm” and it clicked that he is a trans boy and ive never been prouder of my school
My father had taught me to be nice first, because you can always be mean later, but once you’ve been mean to someone, they won’t believe the nice anymore. So be nice, be nice, until it’s time to stop being nice, then destroy them.
why dont we ever talk about how movies condition girls to associate glasses and curly hair with ugliness because that is so fucking damaging to young girls who grow up seeing girls who look like them always be the “before” of every makeover
read this post. read it again. read it two more times. read it aloud. i want this to be ingrained into peoples’ minds
this is so important. this was me (lucy) as a kid and by aged nine I had fully accepted that I was forever going to be the token ‘ugly girl’ because of my glasses and frizzy blonde hair – so much so that when people laughed at me/made fun, I just dealt with it because part of me was like, ‘it’s probably justified. I mean, look at me.’ What fucking nine year old should have to think like that? Do not let movies condition you into thinking some people are ugly/worthless
this is the money dog, repost in the next 24 hours and money will come your way!!
ehh what the hell
OH MY GOD SO NO FUCKIN BULLSHIT I SWEAR To GOD. I reblogged this an hour ago and IM NOT Lying My Tax Refund which I did in late march popped into my Bank Account, and it was a Decent sized amount……

Furiosa isn’t the female action hero we’re used to. Furiosa doesn’t have a dad who was taught her boxing or five brothers who taught her how to fix cars. Furiosa wasn’t a tomboy growing up, who preferred to play with the boys. Furiosa isn’t avenging the murder of her husband/brother/father or hunting down a rapist.
Furiosa comes from a community of women. She was raised by women. She works her way up through enemy ranks until she’s in a position to rescue women. Furiosa is here for women, she is here with women, and she is here because of women. Her rage, her ruthlessness, her courage – these are all things she learned from women, and from being a woman.
Just a quick guide for all you guys and girls having trouble finding the right insurance. It’s incredibly difficult to find insurance that covers sex reassignment surgery, and even when then do, there’s a chance you’ll be denied.

Also just a quick little tidbit for those of you looking to purchase these insurances through the marketplace as opposed to through an employer!! At least with BCBS, there is an option for you to apply for a subsidy, which means the government provides you with financial assistance, based upon your income and how many people you have in your household, to help towards your monthly payments for the insurance, and you don’t pay them back! I suggest reading up on that!!
this one time I ran a red light on mistake and I didn’t notice it was red until it was too late so I just ran the light screeching like an angry pterodactyl the entire time
a cop was at the intersection so he pulled me over and when he came up to my window he was wheezing cause he was laughing so hard and he said
“ok so i know you ran a red light and that’s really bad and you should never do it again but i’m not gonna give you a ticket cause that was the funniest thing i’ve ever seen and my partner can’t get out of the car cause he’s laughing so hard he’s about to pee himself”
i forgot that i’d had my window open when i ran the red light and the cop told me that all he heard from my car was this really high-pitched “screeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEAAAHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”
and that’s how i got out of getting a ticket for running a red light
this is my favourite story of all time and im probably going to reblog it many times throughout my blog’s lifetime
at eleven, was described by his teachers as ‘bright’
at the same age, according to the Sorting Hat: “Not a bad mind, either. There’s talent, oh my goodness, yes” and “You could be great, you know, it’s all here in your head”
mastered the challenging Patronus Charm at thirteen and proceeded to teach it at fifteen
resisted the Imperius Curse at fourteen and soon learned to throw it off completely, even when cast by the incredibly powerful Voldemort
also at fourteen, learned to cast a powerful Accio Charm
at fifteen, was training other students
at the same age, under extreme stress, tested as ‘exceeds expectations’ or ‘outstanding’ in every subject that required actual magic (including the dreaded Potions)
same age, cast a briefly effective Cruciatus Curse
at sixteen, became a star Potions student simply by following superior instructions
at seventeen, successfully cast the Imperius Curse on his first try, and used it repeatedly
at the same age, cast a successful Cruciatus Curse
IF YOU THINK THAT I’M GOING TO SIT AND WATCH A SIX TO SEVEN HOUR MOVIE JUST BECAUSE IT’S AN EXACT REPLICA OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS WITH EVERY SINGLE WORD AND DETAIL INCLUDED then you are absolutely right, just let me make some popcorn and get some drinks, we’re gonna be here awhile
When you come out of Mad Max: Fury Road walking proudly with your chest held high, the cold gleam of death in your eyes, feeling more powerful and badass than you did before, and realize this must be what guys feel like every time they walk out of an action movie
Okay, but imagine the first time Steve and Bucky hear the term “feminazi.” Some dudebro at a convention or public event the team is forced to go to calls a woman a feminazi, and Steve and Bucky just lose it and startyelling at the guy because they’ve lost friends to actual Nazis, and a woman standing up for her rights as a human being is not comparable to slaughtering millions of people.
“Granny breathed out, slowly. ‘Come and sit where I can see you. That’s good manners. And let me tell you right now that I ain’t at all afraid of you.’
The tall, black-robed figure walked across the floor and sat down on a handy barrel, leaning its scythe against the wall. Then it pushed back its hood. Granny folded her arms and stared calmly at the visitor, meeting his gaze eye-to-socket.
I AM IMPRESSED.
‘I have faith.’
REALLY? IN WHAT PARTICULAR DEITY?
‘Oh, none of them.’
THEN FAITH IN WHAT?
‘Just faith, you know. In general.’
Death leaned forward. The candlelight raised new shadows on his skull.
COURAGE IS EASY BY CANDLELIGHT. YOUR FAITH, I SUSPECT, IS IN THE FLAME.
Death grinned.
Granny leaned forward, and blew out the candle. Then she folded her arms again and stared fiercely ahead of her.
After some length of time a voice said, ALL RIGHT, YOU’VE MADE YOUR POINT.”—Terry Pratchett - Maskerade (via yea-lets-do-this-shit)
acceptable problems to have with Caitlyn Jenner, you go, you critique those mainstream narratives
as a wealthy, white celebrity, her experiences aren’t representative of those of most trans women
she’s described herself as conservative, which, even though she hopes to make the Republican Party more trans-inclusive, implies some other oppressive views
a lot of trans people don’t conform to cis beauty standards and that’s just fine
the narrative of visibility as a goal is really problematic for trans people who are placed in danger by hypervisibility
“trans media moments” like this don’t do very much if they focus on one successful trans person instead of the systematic oppression we face
cis “allies” who fetishize trans women but don’t show up when trans people need solidarity
unacceptable problems to have with Caitlyn Jenner, get off my blog, you transphobic trashpile
you think trans people are gross
you think trans people’s identities aren’t valid
you’re uncomfortable finding trans women attractive
seriously if you have any issue with Caitlyn Jenner being trans, shut the fuck up and please never speak again
I have some issues with the acceptable critiques of Caitlyn Jenner.
While she is not representative of the majority of trans women, she doesn’t claim to be and it doesn’t mean she shouldn’t be able to share her story.
She’s been conservative for a good while to my (admittedly weak) knowledge. Criticizing her now vs. criticizing literally every other conservative celeb is problematic.
Does Caitlyn ever say that not conforming to cis beauty standards isn’t ok for trans women to do? If she wanted to conform that is her decision.
As long as Caitlyn Jenner transitioned there was inevitably going to be huge media coverage and visibility. Caitlyn in my opinion chose the right path since an in depth conversation of about transphobia, pronouns, respect in a wider audience is so much more constructive than tabloids filled with transphobia.
Caitlin isn’t in control of what the media tells about and did this for her well being.
Cis allies are going to suck, that’s not Caitlyn’s fault it’s the shitty allies.
Like I feel these are problems with media and it’s portrayal of Caitlyn Jenner, not of Caitlyn Jenner as the post frames it.
Idk it’s 5 am and I haven’t slept yet so if I’m missing the point/wrong/offensive I apologize in advance and please let me know.
you have an interview next week. you always have an interview next week. The managers who interview you all seem to share the same pleasant, blank face. They promise to call you back in a few days. They never do.
they say the minimum wage is going up soon.
you must have two years of experience. you must have five years of experience. you must have ten years of experience. experience in what, exactly? the job requirements bleed into an ancient latin text as you attempt to decipher them.
the people in the photos in the craigslist ads smile eerily at you. their eyes seem to follow you around the room even after you click away from the job posting.
do not apply in person, the posting says. do not send in your resume. do not apply. we’ve lost too many employees to the creature as is.
you plan on leaving your job soon. you’ve been planning on leaving your job soon for months. you keep making excuses as to why you haven’t left your job yet, but you know deep down that even if you put in your two weeks tomorrow, you wouldn’t leave the company as the same person you were when you applied. if they let you leave alive at all.
you seem to see “help wanted” signs everywhere. when you enter and inquire about them, the employees wave you away. you hear their cries for help again as you leave.
you are more than qualified for the job that you are applying to. you are over-qualified for the job you are applying to.
you do not get the job.
Oh god.
You begin interviewing the interviewer. You know everything about the company, the position, and the person across from you. You don’t like them very much. So you start to train them. Now they know better. They still do not hire you.
A third person comes into the room, you’ve been sweating in your chair for over two hours now. You don’t know why you’ve had three identical conversations with nonidentical people. Maybe it’s a test? Is this the comprehension portion? You always aced those tests.
The personality test says you’re a level 35, and you’re glad. You didn’t feel like a level 17, and no one ever hires level 2 personalities. You add the results with all the other tests in the filing cabinet you can no longer close. The papers that spill out have line after line of your personality traits as if they’ve unraveled your genetic code. You need to fit into the personality group of the company.
You wake up from a fugue state surrounded by writing samples, clutching your chest, heart hammering. It’s four in the morning.
You wonder if 401K is the name of the ghost down the hall. You catch them from the corner of your eye, but you’re never really sure if they are actually there.
A question is asked by one person, but it echoes, a multitude of voices saying the same things, over one and the other. You have been here before. You feel cold.
Tell me about a problem you had and how you solved it?
I am stuck in a loop. Everything is the same. I wake up, I eat, and go to this interview, and then I go again. Every time, the same questions are asked and I can’t stop them. Nothing stops. You just don’t remember me, but I’ve been here before. I remember it all. Everything.
You tell them about the time you solved a problem using customer service skills.
They tell you there’s plenty of jobs out there, They do, Them. You just have to look, so you pick those up. Find some jobs, NO NOT THOSE ONES, THOSE AREN’T REAL JOBS. GO GET A REAL JOB You’re scared. Why are They mad? What did you do? You worry if your job is REAL. Are you real?
The real problem with books-turned-movies isn’t “omg they didn’t include every single word in the book” it’s “omg they completely overlooked the main theme, threw out any significant allegories, took away all the emotional pull, an turned it into a boring action movie with a love triangle in it”
