I’m constantly forgetting meds and missing doses, so here’s something to pass around as a reminder.

Have you taken your medication today?

That other medication too?

Did you have the food/water you need with it?

Do you need to order any refills?

“I waited too long to read the sequel, and now I can’t even remember the characters.”

 A novel by me

“I read the whole series in less than two days, and now can’t separate the events of individual books” the thrilling sequel

“I’ve read so much fanfic for this series, I can’t remember what really happened in the books” the stunning conclusion

If you are wearing a binder right now...

kittleimp:

Straighten your back and stretch your arms over your head. Take a deep breath. Now cough a few times to rattle things around in your chest. Don’t wear it for more than eight hours if you can help it. Binder safety is very important! Alright, now go ahead and pass this on for someone else who might need it. Thank you!

minimum wage doesn’t even TOUCH a living wage, racism and sexism are alive and well, children are killed in schools on a regular basis, those who make it to college end up with hundreds of thousands in debt, our basic rights are being stripped from us daily, and adults actually believe that SELFIES are the cause for this generation’s demise

“The Grapes of Wrath was written because Steinbeck stole the notes of a hardworking Dust Bowl-era journalist named Sanora Babb, who was trying to write her own book. When she finally had a chance to pitch it, she found that the market was overpowered by a successful book—based entirely on her notes. When Steinbeck saw the things in person that he later wrote about, he couldn’t stand to look at it for more than a day. Babb spent much of her career working with and chronicling impoverished farmers. Her book wasn’t published until the year before she died. In 2004. She would be a household name if not for the theft.”—

Fuck you, Steinbeck. (via theangelofbucephalon)

Steinbeck based his book on reports made by Sanora Babb (leaked to him by her boss, Tom Collins, to whom Grapes of Wrath is dedicated). Sanora Babb was planning to write her own book, but Steinbeck published before she did. Babb was told that the market could not bear another on the same subject. Her book, ‘Whose Names are Unknown’, was finally published in 2004. I haven’t read either book yet, but am now definitely going to be reading ‘Whose Names are Unknown’ soon.
Babb’s novel is described as showing how by re-creating rudimentary democratic practices the refugees restructure their lives as a unified community, resisting violent discrimination. In ‘Whose Names are Unknown’, we hear the whole powerful story from the point of view of a woman who had actual experience with both the origin and the destination of the migrants.

Sanora Babb was a member of the US Communist Party in the 1930s and 40s, dropped out of the party due to the authoritarian structure and in-fighting.

australia’s got a lot of fucked up shit going on but at least we can say our last mass shooting was 18 years ago

because after it happened we placed higher restrictions on gun ownership

because that’s the logical fucking thing to do

It’s ALMOST as if better gun control laws help keep people safe from gun crime

But no

Surely that can’t be the case…

In 49 I repeat FORTY FUCKING NINE states you can kill a trans person and use the “trans panic defense” as your reason for fucking killing someone like me and IT ACTUALLY WORKS. My life is nothing as long as the person who killed me was scared enough to fucking murder me.
Who should really be the scared one here?
Marriage equality is great and all but FUCK

AND THIS MOSTLY AFFECTS BLACK TRANS WOMEN.

SAY IT WITH ME NOW.

BLACK TRANS WOMEN.

It’s amazing that people will see a kid yelled at or manhandled by a parent and say “It’s not my business, you can’t tell someone how to raise their kid” but if someone lets their son wear a dress it’s a public discussion.
