mom can i move to sweden
And you wanna know why? Because having a young person in school = expenses. They are in school from 8am-4pm, can’t bring in an income to the family. So Sweden decided you know what? Lets give them a bit of $$ to help out the student and family with expenses of supporting a student.
College education is also free in Sweden because you know what? Education is seen as a social investment.

I worry that saying ‘Be like Jesus! He’s cool cuz He hung out with sinners!’ actually ostracizes ‘sinners’. He never labeled them as such. It was disapproving religious folk who said Jesus was a friend of sinners. They were insulting Jesus by lumping him with ‘dirty people’. If we feel good about ourselves because we hang out with ‘sinners’, we’re elevating ourselves in a Pharisaical hierarchy. Jesus didn’t tell us to love sinners. He told us to love our neighbors [and our enemies]. So no, don’t ‘be like Jesus who hung out with prostitutes and drunkards’. Be like Jesus who saw people as names and faces and stories, not sins. When religious people point at you and say ‘Don’t you know this woman has a past?’, Jesus smiles and says ‘I know she has a future. — Micah J. Murray (via hagiazo223)

Just going to leave this here
!!!
To date they have killed far more Muslims than any other religious group. It’s not Islam vs Christianity, nor is it ISIS vs Christians, it’s ISIS vs the rest of the world. The media’s portrayal of ISIS is simply manipulative propaganda to inveigle the masses into harboring prejudice against Islam/Muslims and thus supporting US imperialism. They’ve duped the entire west into believing the Christian persecution is the primary, or even most significant endeavor of ISIS. I won’t even mention how ISIS was actually created by the US(either directly or indirectly).

Leonard did exactly what he always signed his tweets with.
He lived long and, dammit, he sure did prosper. He has been a major influence in so many people’s lives. The hearts he’d touched with his poetry and his actions. He will be remembered as one of the kindest, most good-hearted men to ever live.
On to the final frontier, Leonard. We will surely miss you.

This Congressman just showed everyone the exact right way to support transgender people
On Wednesday, California Congressman Mike Honda did his part to combat the often difficult reality many transgender people face by expressing a sweet message of love and support for his own grandchild.
The tweet was sent in the wake of recent, encouraging political action on behalf of trans individuals. A new law could be on the horizon.
Breaking news: Man is decent human being, deserves praise
OR Breaking News: CONGRESS MAN shows support for a marginalized group when most would try to hide it away in the closet.
Breaking news: Man who has the power to help change things, not because he’s a straight white ally, but because he actually has power in the government, is yes, a decent human being, but also is potentially using his power as a congressman to help change things, for the better, for trans people.
BREAKING NEWS: HIS GRANDCHILD MAY BE ABLE TO ALSO USE THEIR GRANDFATHERS POWER AS A CONGRESSMAN TO CHANGE THINGS.
BREAKING NEWS: THIS IS A FUCKING GOOD THING. it may not seem like a lot, and trust me, I will never pretend to know the trials of a trans person. But, I do know that when someone has power as a representative of the government, they don’t always use it. And from the looks of it, this man may intend to help change things, not only in his own state, but prehaps the whole country.
And he’s also risking losing his power as an elected official; if his constituents disagree with what he’s said then he may be booted in the next election.
Based on his Twitter followers, it seems the reaction has been positive.
Breaking news, this guy ain’t white. He’s Japanese-American, whose family was forced into an internment camp during WWII. I think he’s pretty cognizant of what bigotry and intolerance is like. For many minorities, it’s not a difficult jump from the racism we suffer to understand and empathize what LGBTQ suffer.
