i love this photo because at first you think that she was going to get married but instead her husband to be left her, or something like that. but actually its quite the opposite. i clicked on the source and it brought me to an article explaining the story behind this photo, and shes not crying, shes hungover. her and her husband went to a football game on their wedding day, and got extremely drunk and partied all night. they took the subway home because they couldn’t drive. so no, its not a sad heartbreaking story, its a crazy joyful one. which in my opinion makes the picture even more amazing.

CAN PEOPLE PLEASE REBLOG THE PIC WITH THIS CAPTION^ AND NOT THE ONE WHERE EVERYONE IS SAD AND ARE LIKE “POOR GIRL GOD BLESS”

WE ARE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING AUSTRALIA’S FIRST TERRORIST ATTACK

There are 13 people being held hostage in a café in Sydney’s Martin Place, where black Shahada flags - similar to those used by ISIS - are being held in the windows. From the reports from the major news source situated across the way from the store, the hostages were taken an hour and a half ago, at around 9:45am sydney time, and the instigator has pressed the hostages against the window and forced them to hold an ISIS flag to show to the cameras.

It is suspected that they have explosives in the store.

Keep these people in your thoughts.

Fucking hell.

First of all it was not an ISIS flag. Not every black flag with Arabic on it is. 7 News wrongly claimed the flag was in a tweet which has now been deleted.

Secondly, stop perpetuating Abbott’s Islamopobic scare campaign. Let’s not forget that this isn’t Australia’s first terror attack. The first one was carried out by ASIO themselves, and used as justification for expanding their powers and budget, as well as the formation of the AFP.

Not a single one of them has been carried out by Muslims. In fact, it’s statistically more likely to be a racist who hates Muslims rather than an actual Muslim. There is however, a long list of ‘terror plots’ targeting Muslims, each providing and excuse for another extension of racist and repressive ‘anti-terror’ laws.

Keep all Muslims in Australia in your thoughts as the government inevitably uses this as an excuse to revive Islamophobia and anti-terror hype.

In some older versions of Persephone’s story, she was a young woman, not a young girl, and instead of accidentally wandering away, she had gone deliberately adventuring, when she fell, or was lured, or was kidnapped into Hell. Here Persephone’s adventurous spirit leads her into difficulty, instead of her being a passive victim of the wickedness of others. Her relationship with her mother gives her the courage to explore her world, and when events take a bad turn, their relationship gives her the strength to survive.

In a still older version, Persephone heard the despairing cries of the dead and chose freely to go into the Underworld to comfort them. Hades does not appear at all, in this version. Here Persephone’s descent to hell illustrates inclusiveness for every being, whether in the Underworld or in our present one, and shows that mercy is integral to her nature.

In the most ancient layer of myth, Persephone’s name means “She Who Destroys The Light.” She was the powerful Goddess of the Underworld long before anyone knew of Hades. Like the Indian Kali, the Irish Morrigan, and the Sumerian Ereshkegal, she was the Goddess of Death.
