I think the funniest thing about this post is the idea that Ginny was only snappy at Cho because of jealousy. 

like, Ginny doesn’t know Cho, at least not that we are aware of. Ginny probably doesn’t trust Cho. it was Cho’s friend who snitched in OoTP, and Cho defended her, something Ginny probably found out about. so Ginny has no reason whatsoever to trust Cho. 

she knows Harry. they understand each other perfectly. so she knows the type of danger he’s in (the reason they broke up, to keep her safe because he’s in so much danger) and that he has important tasks to accomplish. 

so you can bet your ass that Ginny would want to protect Harry, in any subtle way she can, so she stops someone she doesn’t trust from leading him on his task, and has Luna (one of her good friends, and someone she probably trusts explicitly) to take Harry to where he needs to go.

and I’m not attacking Cho, because she probably had good intentions, and wanted to help. remember, she went against her parents wishes to join the DA, and she believed in Harry. 

but was Ginny having a ‘petty jealous fit’ about letting Cho help Harry?

One time, when I was living in Georgia, I was spending the night one of my friends house during the middle of this massive storm. Which might sound weird but it wasn’t too big a deal considering we lived right next to each other. Now this was like, a really bad storm. I’ve lived through both blizzards in New England and now the insane weather system that is the Chicago Suburbs, and I still consider this probably the worst storm I’ve been through. Countless people’s houses were destroyed by trees, you’d literally risk being blown away if you stepped outside, there was a lightning strike ranging from one every few minutes, to every few seconds. Now my friend’s parents were divorced, and my friend lived with his dad. His dad wasn’t the best of cooks, and we wanted food so my friend suggested “Let’s order pizza!” And we just stared at him like, are you insane? Who the hell would come in this kind of weather??
So eventually we’re like it’s worth a shot, so like 20 minutes later we see a car driving up, and this pizza guy stepping out being blasted by the onslaught of torrential rain, and we just feel so awful like how could we do this, and while he’s coming up the steps, the TORNADO SIREN STARTS. And then the guy comes up and we’re like “OH MY GOD WE’RE SO SORRY WE DIDN’T THINK YOU’D ACTUALLY COME.” And he was just like “Eh, there was no traffic so this was actually one of my easiest deliveries”

I’d appreciate if people could reblog this, because this is a thing that ace people constantly have to deal with. A huge number of people, especially the L and G (but I have seen it from bi and pan people too) love to claim asexuals are ‘secretly straight’ in order to exclude us in much the same way they try to exclude bi and pan people from the community.

Like I have literally received death threats and suicide provocation for saying that ace people belong in the community and nearly all of them called me ‘secretly straight’ or some variation there-of and I can’t be the only ace person who’s had to deal with this crap. We are not straight.

Just a friendly reminder that the brain of those who have suffered trauma is physically different than a “normal brain”. Trauma and abuse has a severe, long-term psychological and neurological effect. This is why you have difficulty concentrating, why you have trouble sleeping, why you can’t seem to stay focused, why you cry at the drop of the hat, why you’re not satisfied with yourself, why you think everything is your fault, why you think you’re toxic, why you’re full of regret and you don’t know why.

And get this. When you experienced this trauma, no matter how long it happened or how many times, your brain instantaneously made judgments about the world, your sense of self, and others. This is why you’re paranoid. Why you trust no one. Why you perceive things to exist that aren’t true in reality. It’s why people say you’re crazy, over-dramatic, or too emotional.

You may not heal in a day, but know this: it is not your fault. Your brain is responding to trauma.

this is also why you may have memory problems - undergoing severe trauma or prolonged periods of stress can cause the amygdala in your brain to change shape, thus causing damage to long-term memory and troubles with making and maintaining short-term.
