Hey guys, just wanted to share a bit of my story with you. My name is Leo, and I’m transgender.
I have no support from my parents, as both are bible thumping, abusive bigots who have made this process nearly impossible. Since coming out, my mom has been sending me cruel and hateful text messages and bullying me relentlessly. This includes sending pictures of me when I was female and captioning them “pretty Elizabeth” which is obliviously super fucking dysphoric and exhausting. I’ve attached some for you guys to read so can you see just how incredibly ignorant and toxic she is. I try not to let it get to me, but after years of psychological abuse, they know how to weaken me.
I’m suffering from both depression and severe anxiety, and wearing a binder every day has become excruciatingly painful. Most days I don’t even want to leave bed. I am doing my best but am currently homeless and struggling to get by. I just want to be a normal person again.
The cost of the procedure, hospital, travel and lodging fees will be around $10,500. Even if it’s just a dollar, I would be so grateful for your support.

Leo is literally one of the most important people in my life. We’ve been friends since sophomore year of high school and now seven years later he’s basically the best friend I have. Leo is so kind and genuine; he looks out for the people he cares about and has saved my ass on more than one occasion. Despite struggling with his own mental illness he always has time to help me with mine and when we hang out or go on a day trip I can feel the anxiety melt away. I don’t know where I would be without him, and so it’s extremely upsetting to watch him being verbally abused and bullied. His parents are many things, but to call them parental or nurturing would a bold face lie. Some of you are given amazing supportive families, but right now hagridsbeard and I are his family.
At the end of the day I know most of you are like us; just trying to get by on the finances you have. But if everyone donated a dollar or two and shared it we could accomplish this goal easily. Kea, one of our most sacred mountains, is under attack. Since the 70′s,
telescopes have been built on its summit, destroying the ecosystem and
sacred sites. Right now, there are 13 telescopes, and now, certain
people want to build another one. Except this one will be 30 meters (98+
ft.) tall, and costing over $1.4 billion. Because of the mountain’s
unstable surface, construction workers for the other telescopes have had
to basically blow up certain areas and smooth it out to make it more
stable. Mauna Kea is already over 40 feet (12 m) lower than before
construction.
Even though many people were arrested after a series
of peaceful protests, we are still fighting. Mauna Kea is sacred to our
people, and it is not theirs to build on. This land is ancient and
sacred, and it does not belong to the United States, or the State of
Hawai’i.
