Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a nice holiday! I’m going to do a long write up on wordpress but thought I would post something quick here.

I wouldn’t say this year was exciting, but I’ve learned a lot and i’m proud of what I got done. I hope I can continue down the path I started on this year.

I made 21 costumes this year. They aren’t all pictured above but most of them are! My favorite is probably the Fall Fairy. Followed by the 1830s Red Dress and the Christmas Angel. It would be neat to hear your favorites!

This year i’ve gotten a lot more support than I had ever expected. I’m so incredibly grateful for the kind words I’ve received and the interest people have shown in my work. It really means a lot to me, so thank you!!

Fun fact:  this is the same guy who got pretty pissed at one of his directors and retaliated by refusing to ever wear pants on set, so the director had to work around only filming him from the waist up.

so they sent in decoys, whose job was to pretend to want to engage in homosexual activity in order to find gay sailors

except then the job of the decoy got popular

like, really popular

like… worryingly popular?

reports said that the decoys were performing their jobs with “much enthusiasm and zeal”

Alice Zielinski is currently an MIT undergraduate studying aeronautical & astronautical engineering and computer science & electrical engineering. In this article, she tells us that

“Many MIT students recount questions about their GPA, test scores, magnificent things they’ve built, other accomplishments—while I often find myself trying to convince people that I actually attend MIT. The reactions that I’ve received from people range from amusing to borderline offensive, from delightful to ‘what??’”

Just another thing to show to your friends who don’t believe that sexism in STEM is a thing. Especially since she had to write a follow up addressing negative responses.
