we’ve taught girls to romanticise nearly everything a boy does. when i was younger i thought it was cute that boys chased the girl even after she said no. i loved it when after a girl moved away from a kiss, the guy would pull her back and force it on. i thought a guy saying ‘i won’t take a no for an answer’ was passionate and romantic. we’re literally always teaching girls to romanticise abusive traits.

As you see, the petition on change.org to enact Leelah’s Law to ban Transgender Conversion therapy has a lot of buzz, which is great! But, a much better website would be petitions.whitehouse.gov/ because they are an actual government website and if a petition meets the signature threshold, it will be reviewed by the Obama Administration and they will issue a response. Of course any sort of attention to the matter is fantastic, but the “We the People” petition may have a greater effect on actual change and justice for people, and still needs 99,306 signatures by the end of the month!
