Modern AU where Max finds himself making conversation and possibly flirting (is she flirting with him? He thinks she is…) with Furiosa the bus driver at a particularly long stop light.

- #conveniently in australia you can have left and right sided cars
- #so furiosa’s bus is a lefty (like the war rig) while max’s car is a righty so they’re square next to each other when they drive
- #idk maybe he’s super regular about his commute that happens to line up with her bus route; they meet each other driving is the thing
- #at first it’s just a nod of acknowledgement then waves then they’re like pretending to race each other as the light changes
- #maybe max is in his patrol car sometimes and at first she thinks she’s in trouble but then realizes it’s him & sasses as much as usual
- #and it’s kind of hard to yell back and forth when you need to at least pretend to be paying attention to traffic but they try
- #furiosa starts aggressively flirting after a while and max is confused because are they just joking around still?? she’s on the clock??
- #one of the girls shouts out the bus window that furiosa is asking you out idiot say yes before we’re trapped at the light forever
- #(it’s kind of hard to ignore your bus driver yelling out the window & gunning the engine so they’ve gotten invested in the outcome)
- #the light turns green before max can reply & furiosa drives off (she’s not gonna screw up her route for this)
