#I have so many things to say about this#and I’ve been meaning to write a long meta#but basically Fitz FIXATES on the word afraid#after FZZT#after Jemma says you were just afraid of going into the field#and you can see his face change completely#I was not afraid! he insists#and he realizes at that moment that Jemma does see him as the scaredy one#even though to him courage has always been courage in the face of fear#which we know he has always shown#he WAS scared of going into the field#but he did it anyway#because Jemma was worth more than his fear#and now he feels like he needs to prove that not only does he face fear#but he doesn’t feel it at all#that’s he above it#like Ward and Trip who jump in immediately#because he thinks that’s what Jemma likes#but you stupid stupid boy#you crying and standing up to fear is what makes you the hero#and what makes Jemma a hero#you both are such stupid selfless babies#someday I’ll write a formulated meta about this#but good god#fitzsimmons (via fitz-simmonsy)
