This always bugged me about sports fans.

“NEEEERD!”  “You, sir, are wearing cheese.”

I think about this all the time

So at a con I was working last year, we were sharing the hotel with a national fraternity organization who was holding their annual meeting. While the younger members of the organization were… not the most respectful, one of my fellow staff told me about being in an elevator with an older gentleman from the organization and being asked, “What’s going on with all these costumes?”

They saw the opportunity and responded perfectly: “You know how, at sports games or bars, people will wear jerseys or paint their faces or chests or wear cheesehead hats for teams they like? Same thing, but we’re doing it for this show, not a sports team.”

The older gentleman thought for a moment and said, “That makes perfect sense. I get it now.”

I always thought the cheese hat was like a weird joke in this comic but apperently its an actual thing wow.
