How often do your think she still does this? Now that she’s free?

Do you think Eugene wakes every morning to an empty bed and goes looking through the enormous palace for her, asking the servants if they’ve seen her?

"Yeah, caught her trying to sweep the drawing room again. She went toward the north wing, the dear."

And sometimes into the marketplace where the merchants smile at how sweetly she bartered for their goods, nevermind that she’s the princess and they would give the things she asks for for free.

And eventually he finds her in a small closet (big for a closet, but small for any of the normal rooms) and knitting or painting or any of a dozen other hobbies she’s picked up. Completely in the zone now that she actually has other people to make things for besides herself and Pascal and so these things actually have a meaning.

Or some days he’d find she’d been in the library reading all day, to the point where she’d miss something they were supposed to do, having lost track of time because all these books are NEW and don’t take ten minutes to read anymore.

All new experiences are well and good, but she’d been stuck in a loop for so long do you think she ever just gets lost in it when she’s not deliberately breaking that mold?
