this is very interesting and fascinating. i know from personal experience as a korean also not to stick my chopsticks upright in rice because it resembles incense at a funeral and is considered to be an omen/bad luck

Don’t take the China one at face value. China is a large country and at many areas, especially rural ones, it is rude to waste food as rice is difficult to grow. Also I have yet to see any place in China that appreciates belching at the table. It is normally considered disgusting and rude.
