i hear a lot about period cycles becoming in sync when women spend a lot of time together, but do they just average out or is there one cycle that’s just like the alpha cycle and makes the other one conform
they average out (in my experience)
there’s been studies on this, actually. i dont have the exact answer but one study conducted showed that people with vaginas “with a need for social recognition and approval from others were associated with synchrony“ [wiki][study] so it’s entirely possible that there is an alpha cycle in someone who is more confident and secure.
This post just turned into a five minute conversation with my two roommates about how, if we all had regular periods (one of them’s on birth control, one only has her period once every few months), I would be the Alpha Cycle. I’m unsure of how this happened.
