Both a friend of mine and I have had partial non-verbal days recently. I had forgotten how frustrating they can be, especially the people around you don’t know what’s going on and you’re not sure how to communicate it to them.

So, I don’t know if it’s been done before, but I made a few little cards that people could print out and give or show to people in times like that.

There’s three different versions, since people might have these days for different reasons, or might not want to disclose why.

Big shout-out to psilentasincjelli, who helped me out a lot and wrote the blurb on the back.

You can find PDF versions of the cards at this link!
There are four to a page,  each just about the size of a business card, and will be able to fit in most wallets. You should be able to cut them out and fold them.

[4 rectangles. They read, 1: I am non-verbal right now. 2: I am non-verbal right now. (I am Autistic.) 3: I am non-verbal right now. (I have anxiety.) 4: Hello! I am heaving a non-verbal day, which means I may find it difficult or impossible to speak! I am not ignoring you or giving you the silent treatment. I may or may not be able to type, sign, write, or use other methods of communication.]
