Instead of banning Syrian refugees, Pope Francis is washing their feet
According to Vatican Radio, the pope is celebrating mass on Maundy Thursday by visiting the Center for Asylum Seekers 25 miles north of Rome in Castelnuovo di Porto. In a move straight out of the Bible, Francis washed the feet of several young Syrian refugees. Francis’ symbolic gesture is sending an intentionally, powerful message to the world.
Pope Francis is modeling grace and hospitality for the world.
