I walked through the Holocaust Museum this morning and there was a whole room about Nazi efforts to dismantle their gas chambers and incinerators, and dig up and cremate hundreds of thousands of bodies as Allied armies closed in on concentration camps.
After two decades of proclamations about strength and pride and honor, when the eyes of the world were approaching they did everything they could to hide what they’d done. Hitler, Göring, Himmler and more committed suicide nstead of staring their accusers in the eyes at Nuremburg and defending their actions to the death.
Nazis are such fucking cowards.
