Telekinetics, as you’re describing, can more objects with their minds.
Telepaths, such as Professor X, can read and control the minds of others.
Sometimes someone might be both (like Jean Grey/Phoenix, who’s the best known example), but the Prof is a telepath only. The world’s most powerful telepath, yeah, which means that occasionally under extreme and life threatening circumstances he can do some crazy shit, but just a telepath.
