One of my biggest fears about this election is that all the millennials are gonna come out and vote for Bernie Sanders and forget to vote for anybody else. Every seat in the House of Representatives is up for reelection and a bunch of Senate seats are up as well. Most states do their governor and state legislature during mid-terms (which means we’re all gonna need to go out again in 2018), but a few are open in this cycle and people living in those states need to know about that too.

There are two things about American politics that nobody seems to know and everyone should: republicans only win when people don’t vote and local politics affect you at least as much as national level shit. Vote for your favorite Presidential candidate, but also vote for like, city council and state representative and stuff. It’s all important and if we as a generation want to make real change we need to flex our voting power at every level of government and show our country that we are a political force to be reckoned with. I want to see us out, in force, in every election until we’re all goddamned dead. Because that’s how shit gets done in a democracy.

hey fellow people who live in the US

don’t forget to register to vote before February. millenials are the largest age group rn but we’re the smallest group to actually vote. ik you think your vote doesn’t matter, but it really does esp when you add all of us up. voting is super important, especially if you don’t want a republican run congress. you might not want to do jury duty if you register, but voting is sooo important. pls register to vote. it’s your right to vote, and honestly, if you don’t vote, then you have no right to complain about politics/who’s president bc you did nothing to change it (as long as you’re 18+ by the deadline)

thanks

also 23 states offer online registration

Seriously. We were raised to believe, and are still told, that Baby Boomers are the Majority. That when we vote, it does’t count because there are just so many of them.

This isn’t the case, not anymore.

Millennials out number Baby Boomers by over 7 MILLION. We are 25% of the population. That’s HUGE. Our votes count, our votes are the votes that can create change. The vast majority of millennials are coming into voting age.
So please, please vote. Know your votes count. You’re part of the biggest, most diverse age in the history of the U.S. and right behind you is an even more diverse population. Please vote and lets change history.

Be the productive type & fight for your rights by staying aware and voting ✊

All you insufferable hipsters and professional malcontents who are too cool to vote because you think it makes no difference can look up what just happened in Alberta and then officially kiss my Canadian ass. The most conservative province in the entire country just broke a 44 year record of electing conservatives and just now elected a solid socialist majority instead. This is like Texas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma all voting for Bernie Sanders. The conservatives came in at a distant third place and effectively have no power now after holding onto it for nearly half a century. The political reality of all of Canada has changed with one election. If that doesn’t motivate you to get off your lazy ass and vote, then you deserve whatever government your grandparents pick for you.
